Job summary

The University of Colorado Denver is seeking an Associate Vice Chancellor for Faculty Affairs and Professional Development to lead faculty development, governance, and personnel policy alignment across the campus.

Reporting to the Provost, this role emphasizes inclusive culture, strategic leadership, and collaboration with deans and academic leaders to advance faculty excellence and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate from an accredited institution.
• Seven years of progressively responsible leadership in higher education, with responsibility for faculty affairs, academic administration, or faculty development.
• Expertise in faculty personnel policies, evaluation processes, and shared governance.
• Experience leading faculty development, mentoring, or institutional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for faculty affairs across the faculty lifecycle.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, promotion and tenure, and retention policies.
• Develop a robust faculty leadership pipeline through development and mentoring.
• Foster an inclusive, high-performing academic culture aligned with student success.
• Partner with deans and academic leaders to support department chairs and senior faculty.
