Job Description
Consumers Energy is seeking a GIS Technician I to support the entry and verification of gas service data within GIS and SAP systems. The ideal candidate will work primarily in a remote setting, with flexibility to report to local Service Centers on an as-needed basis.
Key Responsibilities

• Input gas service record data into GIS systems using field redlines, design drawings, and SAP Work Management System (WMS) data.
• Verify the quality, accuracy, and completeness of GIS records.
• Update GIS asset locations and attributes when discrepancies or corrections are identified.
• Ensure service designs meet required specifications and data standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to resolve design and data issues.
• Maintain production targets and timelines while ensuring data integrity.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Knowledge of GIS platforms, particularly ESRI ArcGIS.
• Understanding of utility or gas distribution systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
• Ability to follow established processes and work independently in a virtual/remote environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tasks and technologies.

Preferred Skills
