AV TECHNICIAN

SpaceX is seeking an AV (Audio/Visual) Technician to deliver exceptional support for conferences and events across the organization. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our AV Administrators to master the use of AV equipment and systems, ensuring seamless experiences in our expanding network of conference rooms and event spaces.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing ongoing support for daily technical issues, maintenance, and general upkeep of all AV hardware and systems. You will also play a critical role in supporting live events, meetings, and hybrid/remote gatherings. To succeed, you must be a motivated, organized, and results-driven individual with excellent listening skills and strong oral and written communication abilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support AV/VC solutions locally and globally to support in-region teams.
  • Support events around the SpaceX office from an audio/visual standpoint, and occasional out-of-hours event support.
  • Respond promptly to requests for technical support via email, ticketing, and chat as needed.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting hardware and applications, providing technical support, and problem solving.
  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism and are passionate about providing outstanding customer service.
  • Document the status of issues and provide updates to management, team, and end users.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures, best practices, and customer service guidelines.
  • Create documentation for AV troubleshooting and configuration for team members and end users.
  • Participate in onboarding and training team members.
  • Drive quality and adherence to best practices within the team.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 1+ years of professional experience in AV support.
  • Professional experience in live audio and video production or video conferencing solutions and support.
  • Professional experience with Mac or Windows OS.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: Q-SYS, Logitech, Biamp, Extron, Shure.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Teams or video conferencing technologies.
  • Experience with line drawings, signal flow, AV concepts.
  • Knowledge and ability to terminate various audio and data connections.
  • Cabling experience including pulling and terminating.
  • Construction or mechanical background.
  • Knowledge of layer 1 network technology.
  • Customer service, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Q-SYS, CTS, Crestron DM, or similar certifications.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed.
  • Must be physically fit enough to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. for duties (i.e. delivering computers, unpacking and rack-mounting equipment).
    Must be willing to travel to other SpaceX sites in support of program needs.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg.
