Job summary

Domenico Catering and Events is seeking an AV Tech for on-call event support in the San Carlos area. You will set up and test audio and video systems, operate equipment during events, and troubleshoot issues to ensure a seamless experience for clients and guests.

You will interact with event coordinators, manage front-of-house controls, and perform routine maintenance. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is essential for success in this role.

Job Summary

As an AV Tech at Domenico Catering and Events, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our events by managing and operating front-of-house audio and video equipment. For this On-Call position, your main responsibilities will include setting up and testing all audio-visual systems before events, operating equipment during events, and troubleshooting any issues that arise to provide a seamless experience. This position requires technical proficiency in audio and video systems, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent customer service to interact effectively with clients and team members. The role demands flexibility to work during event schedules, including evenings and weekends. Duties and Responsibilities

• Event Preparation:
  • Set up and test sound systems and microphones prior to each event to ensure functionality and clarity.
  • Ensure that all video equipment, including projectors and screens, are properly configured and ready for use.
  • Coordinate with event coordinators and clients to understand specific audiovisual needs and preferences for each event.
• Live Event Management:
  • Operate the front-of-house booth, managing all audio and video controls during events.
  • Monitor sound and video quality throughout the event, making adjustments as needed to maintain high standards.
  • Troubleshoot any technical issues that arise quickly and efficiently to minimize disruption.
• Customer Interaction:
  • Provide clear instructions and support to clients and presenters on using the AV equipment effectively.
  • Respond to client queries regarding AV setup and operation with professionalism and patience.
• Maintenance and Reporting:
  • Perform regular maintenance checks on all AV equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Report any malfunctions or needed repairs to the management team in a timely manner.
  • Keep inventory of all audiovisual equipment and supplies, and suggest upgrades and replacements as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Audio Video Technician or similar role.
• Strong technical knowledge of audio and video systems, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with team members and clients.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.

Preferred Experience:

• Live video editing, specifically using ATEM video switchers
• Live sound engineering, especially with discussion panels or multi-piece bands
• Hybrid meeting administration and video conferencing setup
