You will read schematics, wire racks, and coordinate with other trades to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. Certifications such as CTS-I or Crestron are advantageous, with a strong focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or bachelor’s degree and/or military experience.
  • 5+ years in the AV industry.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site installation of displays, projectors, audio, control, and teleconferencing systems.
  • Install, test, and terminate low-voltage cabling (Cat6, fiber, HDMI, HDBaseT, speaker wire).
  • Guide junior technicians and subcontractors; collaborate with AV engineers and Project Managers to complete installations on time and within budget.
  • Complete complex rack wiring for divisible spaces, auditoriums, and large-format environments.
  • Read AV signal flow diagrams and as-built drawings.
  • Assist with inventory, staging, and testing of AV and network hardware.
  • Communicate with General Contractors and Electrical Contractors on-site and manage client-facing communications.
  • Pursue AV certifications to support continued growth (CTS-I, Crestron, Biamp, etc.).

The Role

Presidio is seeking an on-site AV Integration Lead Technician who will be responsible for the installation of displays, projectors, audio systems, control systems, and teleconferencing systems. The position will be onsite in the Charlotte, NC (Whitehall Park) office. The travel will be regional (85%) of the time, and you will be required to travel to client sites on a regular basis.

Travel Requirements

You will be expected to travel to client sites on a daily basis including out-of-town/overnight travel weekly (up to 75% - 85% of the time). It will be based out of Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities Include
  • Lead the on-site installation of displays, projectors, audio systems, control systems, and teleconferencing systems.
  • Install, test, and terminate low-voltage cabling — including Cat6, fiber, HDMI, HDBaseT, and speaker wire — to support audiovisual implementations.
  • Provide guidance and direction to junior technicians and subcontractors; collaborate with AV engineers and Project Managers to complete installations on time and within budget.
  • Complete complex rack wiring for divisible spaces, auditoriums, and large-format environments.
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of various collaboration platforms and their operation i.e. Webex, MS Teams, and Zoom.
  • Read and interpret AV signal flow diagrams and as-built drawings.
  • Assist with inventory, staging, and testing of AV and network hardware in preparation for installation.
  • Communicate effectively with other trades (General Contractors, Electrical Contractors) and manage client-facing communication on-site.
  • Actively pursue AV professional development and continued education on new and emerging technologies, including certifications such as CTS-I, Crestron, Biamp, and others, to support continued growth within the company.
Required Skills and Professional Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED or bachelor’s degree and/or military experience
  • 5 + experiences in the AV industry
  • Must be able to work on a ladder, lift, push and/or pull 50 pounds or more, stand for long periods, and be able to bend, kneel and work with arms raised for prolonged periods.
Preferred Skills and Professional Experience
  • AV industry standard certification (CTS, Extron, AVIXA, Shure, Biamp, Crestron, Poly, Cisco, etc.) are valuable certs to have for this position.
  • 5 years of AV integration experience is suggested.
