Job description

How You’ll Contribute:

Diversified is seeking an AV & Studio Systems Engineer to serve as the primary onsite technical resource for a newly integrated, high-end corporate AV, executive presentation, collaboration, and studio environment in New York City.

This position is responsible for the daily readiness, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational support of the AV environment. The Engineer will perform preventive maintenance and break/fix support, prepare rooms for meetings and executive presentations, troubleshoot live technical issues, coordinate escalations with OEMs and engineering teams, and maintain system documentation.

The role will also provide operational support for routine studio and presentation workflows, including PTZ cameras, basic switching, audio/video monitoring, and content playback.

This is primarily an AV systems support and maintenance role with studio operational responsibilities. It is not a programming, design engineering, enterprise IT, or dedicated production-crew position.

This is a full-time onsite position based on a 40-hour workweek, primarily Monday through Friday. Scheduled hours may vary based on planned business requirements, meetings, and events.

Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required for approved maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, or preparation for business-critical meetings in accordance with Diversified scheduling and overtime policies.

What You’ll Do:

The AV & Studio Systems Engineer is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, performing minor break/fix, supporting users and meetings, documenting activity, and coordinating technical escalation within the supported AV environment.

Programming, system design, enterprise network administration, major installation, structured cabling, major rack builds, construction, advanced manufacturer-level repair, and complex multi-role production are handled by the appropriate specialized resources.

AV Systems Support & Maintenance

  • Perform daily system readiness checks and scheduled preventive maintenance across supported AV, executive presentation, collaboration, and studio spaces.
  • Diagnose and resolve audio, video, conferencing, display, camera, control, connectivity, and AV-over-IP issues.
  • Perform break/fix troubleshooting and approved minor equipment replacement.
  • Troubleshoot AV signal flow, cabling, connections, endpoints, racks, and network-connected AV devices.
  • Identify recurring issues and document findings and recommended corrective or escalation actions.
  • Perform approved firmware and software updates in accordance with established change-management procedures.
  • Create, update, and close service tickets and maintain accurate technical documentation.

Meeting & Executive Support

  • Prepare and test rooms before executive meetings, client presentations, webinars, town halls, and other scheduled events.
  • Support Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom, Webex, Crestron, Cisco collaboration systems, and wireless presentation technologies.
  • Validate audio, video, camera, content-sharing, presentation, and room-control functionality.
  • Provide professional technical support to executives, employees, presenters, clients, and guests.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot technical issues during supported meetings and events.
  • Load, stage, test, and validate client-provided presentation and video content.
  • Provide basic user guidance and create operational SOPs and quick-reference documentation.

Studio & Production Support

  • Perform studio readiness and pre-production system checks.
  • Operate PTZ camera systems using established workflows.
  • Perform basic presentation and production switching for routine corporate meetings.
  • Support audio/video monitoring, presentation systems, and content playback.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during supported studio productions and presentations.
  • Coordinate additional production resources when an event requires multiple simultaneous technical roles.

OEM & Vendor Coordination

  • Open and manage technical support cases with manufacturers and vendors.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting, warranty repairs, RMAs, and equipment replacement.
  • Facilitate approved remote or onsite OEM diagnostics.
  • Escalate advanced issues requiring programming, specialized engineering, Client IT, or manufacturer-level support.
  • Participate in system testing, commissioning, upgrades, and project turnover as an operational technical resource.

Asset & Documentation Management

  • Maintain AV equipment inventory and room-level asset records.
  • Track applicable warranties, licenses, subscriptions, and equipment lifecycle information.
  • Maintain system runbooks, readiness checklists, maintenance records, SOPs, and troubleshooting documentation.
