Job summary

Golden Star Technology Inc. (GST), headquartered in Cerritos, California, seeks an experienced AV/IT Solutions Engineer to partner with the sales team, gather customer requirements for AV and data center solutions, and translate them into functional system designs.

You will develop proposals, review designs, estimate materials, and support pricing while identifying risks. The role requires clear communication, independent work, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a technical field.
• 3-5 years of audiovisual industry experience.
• CTS-D certification preferred.
• Strong AV design and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Experience with quotes and SOWs under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with sales to identify, develop, and close client opportunities to grow revenue.
• Lead pre-sales discussions to capture AV and data center requirements.
• Translate requirements into functional system designs and architectures.
• Develop and support client proposals with tailored solution designs.
• Review pre-construction designs, drawings, and docs for accuracy.
• Assist with technical design, pricing, and risk identification.
• Create system descriptions and block diagrams documentation.
• Identify cabling, equipment lists, and materials for execution.
• Provide material and labor estimates for quoting.
• Serve as technical liaison for engineering inquiries.
• Support sales with technology updates and guidance.
• Obtain and maintain vendor/manufacturer certifications.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Partner with sales account teams to identify, develop, and close client opportunities, supporting revenue growth.
• Lead pre-sales discussions to uncover, document, and define customer requirements for AV and data center solutions.
• Translate customer requirements into comprehensive functional system designs and architectures.
• Develop and support client proposals that incorporate tailored solution designs aligned with business needs.
• Review pre-construction designs, drawings, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with technical design development, pricing, and identification of potential project risks or challenges.
• Create functional system documentation, including system descriptions and block diagrams.
• Identify cabling requirements, equipment lists, and other materials necessary for project execution.
• Provide detailed material and labor estimates to support accurate quoting.
• Serve as a technical liaison for customers regarding engineering and design-related inquiries.
• Support sales account executives by delivering technology updates, solution explanations, and technical guidance.
• Obtain and maintain required vendor and manufacturer certifications.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in the audiovisual industry.
• Demonstrated AV system design experience; CTS-D certification preferred.
• Advanced computer skills related to the design, configuration, and operation of AV systems.
• Experience working with AV test and calibration equipment.
• Ability to support and participate in user acceptance testing.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex system issues.
• Proven ability to translate technical concepts into clear, value-driven business solutions.
• Experience creating accurate quotes and Statements of Work (SOWs) under tight deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including business writing proficiency.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
