Job summary

Nissan is seeking an AV Mechanical Engineering Intern in Santa Clara, CA, for a 12-week program. You will help design, fabricate, assemble, and troubleshoot mechanical and electromechanical systems for autonomous vehicle research and development.

You will work with experienced engineers on AV platforms, prototype systems, test equipment, wiring harnesses, and lab assets, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited engineering or related tech degree program.
• Eligible as Sophomore, Junior, or Senior at the start of the upcoming term.
• Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools for prototyping.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical docs.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; able to manage tasks and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design parts and support development of mechanical assemblies for AV systems.
• Assemble and test mechanical and electromechanical systems for R&D.
• Procure materials and components for prototyping and testing.
• Build and integrate wiring harnesses and supporting hardware.
• Support prototype assembly, lab setup, and test preparation.
• Assist with CAD updates and documentation.
