Job summary

The University of Central Florida's University Operations IT team is seeking an Audio-Visual (AV) Specialist to provide Tier II support for classroom and multimedia systems. This role emphasizes dispatch duties, incident coordination, and field technician collaboration to ensure reliable AV operation in teaching spaces.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in AV or IT support, strong customer service skills, and familiarity with ticketing systems like ServiceNow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience coordinating dispatch operations within an IT or AV support environment including ticket intake and field tech coordination.
• Experience troubleshooting and supporting AV/multimedia systems in classroom or enterprise environments.
• Strong customer service skills with experience supporting faculty or end users in a technical setting.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow) and ability to meet service level expectations.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch including ticket intake, tech coordination, ticket updates, and customer communication.
• Troubleshoot and resolve AV issues in classrooms and multimedia spaces using diagnostics and collaboration with technicians.
• Support incident ticket resolution with timely updates and SLA adherence.
• Perform preventative maintenance and address recurring AV issues.
• Conduct classroom checks and use remote monitoring tools to detect equipment issues.
