Job summary

AVI-SPL is seeking an Installation Technician 1 to join our field team on contracted projects. You will perform installation tasks such as cable pulls, terminations, rack wiring, and basic fabrication under the direction of a Lead Technician.

This role requires travel to multiple sites across CT and surrounding states, lifting up to 50 pounds, using hand and power tools, and maintaining safety and quality standards. A high school diploma and valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Customer service oriented with a focus on client satisfaction.
Basic understanding of audio-visual systems, including projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, video conferencing equipment, digital signage, and control systems.
Basic proficiency in installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling (e.g., HDMI, CAT5e/6, fiber optic), and experience with conduit runs, cable trays, and other wiring methods.
Basic ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with audiovisual equipment and systems.
Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
Basic understanding of network infrastructure and how it integrates with audiovisual systems (e.g., IP-based systems, streaming, cloud-based services).
Ability to work and think independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Perform installation tasks as noted in job summary and in support of Lead Technician.
Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV systems installation related tasks.
Assist Lead Tech with management and security of all associated equipment and tools on jobsite.
Assist with basic mechanical fabrication and basic rack wiring.
Travel to various job sites required.
Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives.
