Job summary

Waveguide is seeking an AV Designer to independently produce audiovisual system designs and documentation across a diverse project portfolio. You will own the design scope, coordinate with BIM and other disciplines, and deliver clear, bid-ready drawings and specifications.

The role requires 3–4 years in building engineering/design (AV, electrical, mechanical) and proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit. CTS-D is preferred; 90+% remote work with minimal travel.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree (e.g. AS Engineering Technology) or higher.
• 3-4 years of experience in building engineering and design (AV, electrical, mechanical or related).
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit design software is required.
• CTS-D certification is preferred but not required.
• General familiarity with AV tech, building systems, and design/construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Independently produce high-quality audiovisual system designs and documentation.
• Own assigned design scope, coordinate with project teams, and deliver coordinated, bid-ready documents.
• Participate in technical/peer reviews and escalate decisions when needed.
• Coordinate with consultants, BIM personnel, engineers, contractors, and clients.
• Build expertise through project work, training, and manufacturer education.
