Job summary

Reworld Projects, LLC., a leading industrial services provider, seeks an Auxiliary Operator to support the control room and safely operate power plant systems. You will inspect boilers and heavy equipment, monitor meters, and perform water treatment as required.

The role requires 2–3 years of boiler experience, rotating 12-hour shifts, and the ability to work in diverse weather and confined spaces while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years’ experience operating boilers and heavy industrial equipment, with some maintenance experience.
• Experience with chemistry testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect power plant systems following safety procedures.
• Monitor auxiliary equipment: pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, conveyors, etc.
• Read meters, gauges to identify trends and potential disruptions.
• Monitor air pollution control equipment.
• Perform sampling, chemistry testing, and water treatment as required.
• Operate heavy industrial equipment (cranes, skid steers, forklifts).
• Maintain correct refuse-fuel levels and mix in designated pits/areas.
• Perform additional duties to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Job description

Overview

As an Auxiliary Operator, you will work with the facility control room to operate and inspect power plant systems safely and efficiently, ensuring the operational effectiveness of Reworld's industrial disposal process.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect power plant systems in accordance with safety operating procedures. Systems include, but are not limited to boilers, air pollution control systems, ash systems, and other heavy industrial equipment.
• Monitor and inspect boiler plant auxiliary equipment, including pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, turbine generators and electrical devices.
• Read and interpret data from meters, gauges, and industrial measuring tools to identify trends and potential equipment disruptions that impact facility operations.
• Monitor air pollution control equipment.
• Perform various types of material sampling, chemistry testing, and treatment of water as required.
• Safely operate heavy industrial mobile equipment, such as cranes, skid steers, loaders, and forklifts.
• Maintain correct levels of refuse-fuel in operations equipment and ensure appropriate refuse mix in designated pits and areas of operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.

Position Requirements & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 2–3 years’ experience operating a boiler and other heavy industrial equipment, with some maintenance experience.
• Experience with chemistry testing is a plus.
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule: rotating 12-hour days/nights with overtime as needed during outages (5 on, 2 off; 2 on, 5 off). 5 am to 5 pm and 5 pm to 5 am.
• Physical Demands: ability to walk, stand, sit, climb; ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs; ability to work from heights and in confined spaces; qualified to wear a full-face respirator; able to work in various weather conditions.
