Job summary

Reworld is seeking an Auxiliary Operator to work with the facility control room to operate and inspect power plant systems safely and efficiently, ensuring the operational effectiveness of the disposal process.

Responsibilities include monitoring various equipment, reading data, sampling water, and operating heavy mobile equipment. A High School diploma and 2–3 years of experience are required, with MA Hoisting licenses preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years' experience operating heavy industrial equipment.
• Must possess or be able to quickly obtain MA 1C/2C Hoisting License.
• Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
• 2nd MA Fireman license or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect power plant systems in accordance with safety operating procedures.
• Monitor boiler plant auxiliary equipment (pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, turbine generators, electrical devices).
• Read and interpret data from meters, gauges, and industrial measuring tools to identify trends and potential disruptions.
• Monitor air pollution control equipment.
• Perform sampling and chemistry testing of water as required.
• Safely operate heavy industrial mobile equipment (cranes, skid steers, loaders, forklifts).
• Maintain correct levels of refuse-fuel and ensure proper refuse mix in designated pits and areas.
• Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient operations.

About the role

As an Auxiliary Operator, you will work in collaboration with our facility control room to operate and inspect various power plant systems safely and efficiently to ensure the operational effectiveness of Reworld's industrial disposal process.

Position Responsibilities:

• Operate and inspect power plant systems in accordance with safety operating procedures, systems include, but are not exclusively limited to boilers, air pollution control systems, ash systems, and heavy industrial equipment
• Monitor and inspect various boiler plant auxiliary equipment, including pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, turbine generators and electrical devices
• Read and interpret data from meters, gauges, and industrial measuring tools to identify trends and/or potential equipment disruptions that impact facility operations
• Monitor air pollution control equipment
• Perform various types of material sampling, chemistry testing, and treatment of water, as required
• Safely operate heavy industrial mobile equipment, such as: cranes, skid steers, loaders, and forklifts
• Responsible to maintain correct levels of refuse-fuel in operations equipment, and ensure appropriate refuse mix in designated pits and areas of operations
• Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations

Position Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 2-3 years' experience operating heavy industrial equipment
• Must possess or be able to quickly obtain MA 1C/2C Hoisting License (refer to state of MA for license requirements)
• Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule
• 2nd MA Fireman license or higher preferred

Physical Demands of the Role

• Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
• Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
• Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
• Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
• Consistently work in various weather conditions
