Job summary

Accolade Healthcare in Danville, IL seeks an Auxiliary Assistant to support residents and staff. The role involves assisting CNAs, answering call lights, and helping with dining room duties while maintaining compassionate, respectful care.

You will help with resident safety, documentation, and daily tasks as you progress toward CNA certification. The program requires completion of Accolade CNA training within 6 months of hire, with ongoing support from supervisors and staff to ensure successful

Qualifications

• Must meet physical requirements of the position.
• Must be an employee of Accolade Healthcare for a minimum of 30-days prior to acceptance into the Auxiliary Assistant program.
• Must complete Accolade CNA Program and test within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to the C.N.A.’s - with no physical resident care
• Answer call lights
• Assist with 15-minute visual checks-utilizing AA checklist tool and ensuring assigned CNA receives completed checklist for documentation
• Assist residents in wheelchairs to and from dining rooms
• Help in dining rooms (pass drinks/take orders, serve meals)
• Take meal orders and serve meals to residents who choose to eat in their room
• Make beds
• Pass ice water and snacks to residents without modified diets
• Be sure resident rooms are neat and tidy (clean nightstands and bedside tables, empty trash, etc.)
• Ensure that personal items are logged as necessary
• Ensure that all personal items are labeled, bagged, and in nightstand
• Ensure rooms and shower rooms are fully stocked (gloves, personal hygiene items, etc.)
• Follow facility policies to ensure resident safety at all times - following In-services regarding all resident safety policies, complete orientation and Relias Training
• Wheelchair cleaning
• AA will perform NO direct patient care, i.e., lifting, transferring, incontinent care or feeding
• Answer phone using proper phone etiquetteResident visitation/conversation time/perform resident sitter duty if needed
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
