Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two years of laboratory or patient care experience.
• Current student pursuing a higher degree may substitute for up to two years of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Receives and accessiones pathology specimens using the HIS and LIS.
• Inventories, files and disposes of pathology specimens.
• Organizes and loads tissue specimens on tissue processors.
• Triages frozen sections to expedite processing.
• Slides and blocks filing and retrieval for pathologists, residents or supervisors.
• Performs and documents solution changes on tissue processors and stainers, keeps instruments and work areas clean.
• Reports environmental or mechanical issues to Engineering or Biomed via work order.
