Joby Aviation is seeking an Autonomy Systems Architect in Concord, CA to own the systems architecture from roadmaps and CONOPS to evaluating life‑cycle costs for autonomy systems powering our aircraft. The role requires coordinating across multiple teams to ensure safe, scalable, and certifiable solutions.

You will interact with avionics, software, and product groups to develop technology roadmaps, perform trade studies, and define the conceptual operations for future aircraft while meeting

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in related field.
• 6+ years with Masters.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid understanding of aircraft systems, development, and certification processes.
• Ability to self-manage and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Build the systems architecture and the roadmap for autonomy.
• Interface with other parts of the organization to integrate technology stacks into architectures.
• Provide strategic thinking to inform the technology trajectory.
• Research technologies and develop roadmaps that meet regulations.
• Develop CONOPs and evaluate their feasibility.
• Collaborate with product teams to identify best technologies for customers.
• Perform trade studies to guide future upgrades.
