Job summary

Applied Intuition is seeking a System Safety Engineer with an automotive background in ADAS and/or autonomous driving. You will define and manage the safety architecture and requirements for both autonomy software and hardware, shaping the technical direction of this project in the automotive space.

The role emphasizes safety concepts, analyses (FMEA/FTA/STPA), and collaboration across teams to ensure a strong safety case and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in System Safety or Functional Safety roles
• MS/BS degree in CS, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or equivalent
• Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering
• Experience with ADAS, autonomous systems and robotics
• Knowledge of ISO 26262, ISO 21448, ISO/DPAS 8800, UL4600 and ML safety considerations
• Experience with V-model from architecture to verification & validation
• Strong collaboration with teams, customers & partners

Responsibilities

• Derive and manage safety concepts, requirements and specifications for autonomy software and hardware for L4 SDS product line
• Lead development of safety architecture
• Perform safety analyses such as FMEA, FTA, STPA and derive safety work
• Coordinate with verification/validation to ensure requirements are verified throughout development
• Contribute to the overall safety case of the final product
• Promote a culture of safety and provide training on safety practices
• Monitor safety performance and drive continuous improvement
• Provide clear goals for project areas and ensure timely execution of requirements
