Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Lead, Autonomous Solutions Management Engineer (MineStar) to define the vision, strategy, and delivery for Surface Management. You will align product, engineering, UX, and data teams to translate complex mining challenges into measurable value for customers globally.

Location is Irving, TX; extensive collaboration with stakeholders worldwide and a strong focus on delivering scalable, real-time geospatial and terrain solutions. Onsite work required five days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
• Knowledge of industry trends, directions, and regulatory considerations.
• Ability to apply problem-solving approaches to diverse situations.
• Knowledge of the software development life cycle for delivering software products.
• Ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies to ensure quality.
• Familiarity with development tools and toolkits for applications.
• Knowledge of AI concepts and their industrial applications.
• Skills to test, write, design, and maintain code.
• Strong technical troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead vision, strategy, and roadmap for MineStar Surface Management solutions.
• Translate mining challenges into scalable, outcome-driven solutions.
• Prioritize initiatives based on strategic alignment and value.
• Drive end-to-end delivery with cross-functional teams.
• Balance short-term priorities with long-term evolution of MineStar.
• Advance surface management domains like tracking and terrain modeling.
• Partner with stakeholders to define priorities and ensure adoption.
• Serve as accountable owner for Surface Management across global teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management.
