STR is seeking an experienced Lead Autonomy Software Engineer in San Diego to drive real-time autonomous systems software for defense programs. You will lead open-architecture software development in C++ and integrate hardware with software for mission-critical applications.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in modern C++ development, including multi-threaded applications.
• Experience with test-driven development and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with cross-platform development (Windows, Linux, iOS) and version control workflows.
• Experience with hardware/software integration.

Responsibilities

• System Development: integrate mature hardware with software across STR teams.
• System Test: collaborate with SAAM/ M&S and live test using LVC infrastructure.
• Leadership: lead small teams in real-time applications with open architecture software in Modern C++.
• Customer Engagement: support discussions to shape product development.
