Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA seeks a Software Engineer or Principal Software Engineer to advance software for flight-critical systems. The role emphasizes C++ and Python development, AI/ML approaches, and DevOps pipelines in a non-remote, onsite setting.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree with 2–5 years of experience (or a master's with 3–5), and must be able to obtain a US Government clearance. Strong collaboration and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM discipline from an accredited university or Master's degree in the same fields.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance and SAP access within a reasonable time.
• Proficient in developing and debugging C++ code and experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins pipelines.
• Experience with autonomy algorithms and AI/ML development is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and test software systems for flight-critical applications.
• Develop autonomy algorithms and AI/ML components in a fast-paced team.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure robust software integration and performance.
• Participate in lab and field testing environments to validate software.
