Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Product Owner to translate customer intent and operator needs into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and execution priorities, sitting between product, human factors, autonomy, and aerospace software.

You will refine the mission-autonomy epic backlog, convert guidance into clear requirements, and define success criteria while engaging with operators and platform teams to balance risks and dependencies.

Qualifications

• Experience in product ownership, human factors, customer experience, systems engineering, or technical program work for complex software or aerospace systems.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Technical fluency in autonomous systems, mission autonomy, flight software, ground control, or operator interfaces.
• Ability to work with program stakeholders, platform providers, and operational users without losing backlog discipline.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and refine the mission-autonomy epic backlog across feature teams.
• Convert customer guidance, platform needs, and end-user workflows into clear product requirements.
• Define success criteria, acceptance criteria, risks, dependencies, and scope trade-offs for autonomy features.
• Become a hands-on user of the operator interface and mission scenarios.
