Job summary

Leidos in Huntsville, AL seeks a Navigation and Autonomy Engineer focused on rapid prototyping and field demonstrations. You’ll work in small teams, owning problems from concept through field demos and customer evaluation, with hands-on roles in MATLAB, Python, C++, ROS, and Linux, and regular travel for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or CS field with 2+ years of hands-on experience or Master’s with less than 2 years.
• US citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance.
• Experience in MATLAB, Python, or C++ for algorithm development and analysis.
• Robotics, controls, estimation, or autonomous systems background.
• Experience with sensor fusion or computer vision algorithms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and analyze state estimation and multi-sensor fusion algorithms (EKF, UKF, particle filters, factor graphs).
• Develop computer vision perception and localization techniques (SLAM, feature extraction, visual odometry, image correlation).
• Engage in MATLAB, Python, C++, ROS, and Linux-based development and testing.
• Build and use simulation testbeds to validate algorithms.
• Travel 1–2 weeks for customer demos 3–4 times per year.
