Job summary

Shield AI is seeking an Autonomy Integration Lead to bring together various autonomy components into integrated reference implementations and oversee verification across software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop processes.

You will collaborate with multiple teams to ensure a cohesive stack, provide test fixtures, and guide deployments on representative hardware and lab environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, AI, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building, testing, and debugging nontrivial C++ software for perception, planning, robotics, autonomous systems, or related domains.
• Experience writing and debugging modern C++, including concurrency patterns and data races, deadlocks, lifetime errors.
• Working experience with Python for prototyping, analysis, automation, or testing.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, testing, debugging, maintainable design.
• Practical experience on Linux and with build/dependency management systems such as Conan or Nix.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain stable Pilot integrated implementations, reference configurations, reusable test fixtures, and representative end-to-end examples.
• Partner with component teams to maintain the integration baseline and resolve gaps in workflows, test harnesses, or extensibility.
• Develop and maintain automated software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop tests across autonomy components.
• Develop glue layer between mission autonomy software and platform software for easy integration and deployment.
• Investigate failures, reproduce and instrument problems, and provide evidence for required changes.
• Support deployment of integrated autonomy stack to hardware with configuration, telemetry, and troubleshooting.
