Job summary

Applied Intuition is seeking an AcuityOS engineer to develop, deploy, and maintain autonomy capabilities for vehicles, including sensors and inter‑agent communications. You will work across field deployment and simulation environments to validate software on real vehicles.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with robotic systems, sensors (RADAR, cameras, GPS, SONAR) and vehicle autopilots (PX4, ROS).
  • Strong proficiency in Linux and command-line tools.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C++ (most work in C++).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab for deployments and testing.
  • Knowledge of inter-vehicle communication protocols (DDS, UDP, ROS2).
  • Experience in integrating third-party software and APIs.

Responsibilities

  • Systems Engineering: Develop, deploy, and validate software systems on autonomous vehicles, focusing on robotics, sensors, and vehicle autopilots.
  • Field Deployment & Testing: Hands-on fieldwork deploying software on vehicles in real-world environments.
  • Interfacing with Sensors and Autopilots: Work with sensors and autopilot systems, integrating them into the autonomous framework.
  • Perception & Autonomy Modules: Deploy and optimize perception pipelines and vehicle autonomy software.
  • Communication Systems: Ensure robust inter-vehicle data exchange for collaborative autonomy.
  • Third-Party Software Integration: Interface with and integrate external software/APIs.
  • Software Quality & CI/CD: Improve software integration, CI/CD processes for reliability.
  • Simulation & Testing: Use simulations to validate behavior before field deployment.
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Work with cross-functional teams and document progress.
