Job summary

General Motors LLC is seeking an Evaluation Engineer to advance autonomous driving analytics and scale GM’s AV platform. You will architect metrics, build dashboards, and partner with autonomy, simulation, systems, and safety teams to deliver data-driven insights across the development lifecycle.

You will apply ML and statistical methods to quantify performance, assess perception and planning models, and help gate releases with clear, explainable results.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in robotics or autonomous systems software, data analysis, or autonomy analytics.
• 3+ years evaluating dynamic systems with time-series data or ML approaches.
• Strong Python development in production environments with testing and code reviews.
• Experience with Pandas, NumPy, SciPy and data visualization.
• Familiar with C++ codebases, debugging and instrumentation.
• Proven technical leadership and system design experience.
• Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Robotics/ML.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement metrics to introspect autonomy software performance across interfaces; collaborate with autonomy developers and systems engineers.
• Design analysis algorithms that summarize, aggregate, and cluster metrics from simulations and on-road runs.
• Develop ML methods to quantify performance and identify patterns across diverse scenes and domains.
• Assess evaluation of perception, prediction, and planning models in the autonomy stack.
• Build and maintain autonomy evaluation dashboards and reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-organizational partners to articulate requirements and share evaluation best practices.
