Job summary

Field AI is seeking a Software Engineer to support testing, deployment, and integration of wheeled robotic platforms across federal and commercial programs. You will own deployment, integration, and field performance, collaborating with customers and internal teams to ensure reliable operations.

This role is hands-on, requires wide collaboration across software, electronics, and mechanical interfaces, and offers an onsite HQ in Irvine, CA with flexible hours, full benefits, and equity

Qualifications

• PhD or MS with relevant experience in robotics or software engineering.
• Experience across full program lifecycle with early-stage system design.
• Familiarity with robotics middleware (ROS/ROS2) and distributed systems.
• Experience with embedded systems (C/C++) on constrained hardware.
• Proven track record in agile/hybrid programs.

Responsibilities

• Drive integration, debugging, and rapid capability development for field deployments.
• Build utilities and tools to facilitate integration and automated testing of system software.
• Provide high‑level technical insights to advance robust software architectures.
