Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking an Autonomy Engineering Development Specialist to drive software architecture for remote control and autonomous systems. You will work on embedded platforms, leading AUTOSAR-based development and real-time software design across distributed teams.

The role emphasizes software verification, risk reduction, and collaboration with global teams. A strong background in embedded C/C++, RTOS, and AUTOSAR is required, along with mentoring responsibilities and production-readiness

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science; advanced degree preferred.
Strong expertise in embedded C/C++ development in RTOS environments.
Proven experience in software architecture and embedded/autonomy systems.

Responsibilities

Define and drive software architecture for Remote Control and autonomy systems on embedded platforms.
Design, develop, and review real-time embedded control software.
Lead AUTOSAR-based software architecture and development using Embedded C/C++.
Define and govern software requirements with traceability to system and customer needs.
Mentor software developers and provide technical leadership across distributed teams.
Drive software verification, validation, and quality practices.
