Job summary

Polymath is developing autonomy software for industrial off-road vehicles, spanning wheel loaders, haul trucks, and excavators used in steel mills, mines, and farms. The team emphasizes automating manual steps and scaling system bringup across diverse vehicles and environments.

The role focuses on end-to-end bringup across simulation, bench, and on-vehicle phases, with hands-on debugging, client interaction, and ROS2 architecture contributions.

Qualifications

• Strong in one or more of: C++, Python, ROS/ROS2, systems architecture, or test automation frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with robots or autonomous systems — not simulation-only.
• Evidence you automated or systematized a manual process before, on any team, in any language.

Responsibilities

• Own vehicle bringup end-to-end across simulation, bench, and on-vehicle phases.
• Build and extend automated test suites that auto-generate issues on failure.
• Support integrators and customers on-site and remotely during bench and vehicle-testing phases.
• Communicate with clients and integrators — align requirements and explain current capabilities.
• Contribute to ROS2 architecture to fix gaps and reduce recurring manual steps.
