Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, IL, offers a summer internship for students in Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related fields. You will join the Physical AI Platform for Construction Autonomy team to help build AI-powered autonomous machinery.

The 12-week, 40-hour program focuses on Robotics, Simulation, Architecture, Autonomy and Software Engineering, with housing stipend and relocation assistance. You must be enrolled full-time and maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full time at a 4-year University/College in Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related degree at the time of application and throughout the program
• Must have completed 12 credit hours prior to the start of the program
• Minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA, no rounding
• Must be able to relocate to internship location for the duration of the internship and complete daily commute using reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Build technical abilities for Physical AI in roles including Robotics, Simulation, Architecture, Autonomy and Automation, and Software engineering
• Work on AI-powered technologies enabling Caterpillar machines to perceive and operate autonomously
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions on real jobsites
