Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks an Autonomy Development Engineer to join the Intelligent Combat Platforms Group in Maryland. You will provide full-stack development for autonomy applications and help design interfaces for intelligent systems to support warfighter capabilities.

You will collaborate with engineers, scientists, and software developers, applying AI, autonomy, and simulation to advance drone and unmanned systems while pursuing security clearances

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer/Software Engineering, CS, Applied Mathematics, or related technical field.
  • Proficient in object-oriented languages including C#, Python, or C++.
  • Experience with .NET, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core.
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; standard web development practices.
  • Familiar with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Willing to travel within CONUS to government/defense sites.
  • Eligible for Interim Secret and Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full stack development for autonomy applications.
  • Provide user interface design and component hierarchy for intelligent systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and software developers to deliver capable autonomy features.
