Job summary
Saronic Technologies seeks a Commissioning Chief Engineer for Marauder, responsible for the commissioning and operation of engine room systems aboard autonomous vessels. You will ensure propulsion, fuels, lubrication, cooling, and environmental systems are tested and integrated with autonomy controls for safe manned, remote, and autonomous operations.
The ideal candidate brings strong problem-solving, documentation development, and independent work ability, with a deep grasp of vessel
Qualifications
- Must hold current USCG credentials and STCW endorsements.
- Ability to draft and refine operating procedures and technical documentation.
- Experience leading commissioning in complex naval or maritime systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead commissioning activities for autonomous vessels, including testing and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with autonomy and software teams to verify integration of machinery control with autonomy stack.
- Develop, write, and refine SOPs, checklists, and technical documentation from scratch.
- Perform maintenance on vessel machinery and ensure readiness for operation.
- Be on-call during hitch to address issues and coordinate with teams.
- Manage inventory and ordering of spare parts and equipment.
- Travel to multiple locations as required for mission objectives.
