Job summary
Saronic Technologies in New Orleans is seeking talented marine designers and drafters to support the development of autonomous surface vessels, applying traditional vessel design with cutting-edge autonomous technologies.
You will collaborate with naval architects, marine engineers, and electrical engineers to produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to defense-oriented maritime innovation.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology or similar field of study.
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of CAD drafting experience.
- Strong fundamentals in vessel design: general, mechanical, electrical, structural and piping.
- Knowledge of maritime regulatory requirements, construction tolerances and processes.
- Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software NX, ShipConstructor, AutoCAD and Rhino.
Responsibilities
- Support new vessel construction through detailed 2D and 3D modeling and technical drawing production.
- Create and modify ship construction drawings.
- Work with naval architects, marine engineers, and electrical engineers on new vessel design implementation.
- Maintain strict drawing standards.
- Create documentation for marine regulatory compliance.
