Saronic Technologies Inc. in New Orleans seeks an experienced Marine Design Manager to lead a team of marine designers and drafters in support of autonomous surface vessel development.

You will set technical standards and drive high-quality vessel design across disciplines. You will collaborate with naval architects, marine engineers, structural and electrical engineers, oversee construction documentation, mentor staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and continuously improve design processes and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or cert in Naval Architecture or related field; an Associate with strong experience considered.
• 10+ years CAD drafting and marine design experience.
• 3+ years leading a team of marine designers.
• Experience with ABS, DNV, LR drawing submittals.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and vessel construction processes.
• Proficiency in NX, ShipConstructor, AutoCAD, and Rhino.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of marine designers and drafters across 2D/3D modeling and production support.
• Develop and enforce drawing standards across the design organization.
• Collaborate with naval architects, marine engineers, and electrical engineers on vessel design.
• Oversee vessel construction documentation, including ship drawings and as-built records.
• Mentor team members in CAD modeling and ship design best practices.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across all design documentation.
• Coordinate design-to-build handoffs with production and build engineering.
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes and tooling.
