Job summary

Gatik is seeking an Autonomous Vehicle Test Engineer to validate performance, reliability, and safety of autonomous driving systems through testing in simulation and on real vehicles. You will collaborate with perception, planning, and controls teams to design test cases, log data, and identify failure modes before production.

This onsite role in Phoenix, AZ requires hands-on testing, test automation in Python and C++ on Linux, ROS1/ROS2, CAN bus interfacing, and sensor calibration; you will

Qualifications

• Master's degree in an engineering discipline.
• Hands-on experience with Linux (Ubuntu) — shell, build systems, networking, debugging tools.
• Working knowledge of ROS1/ROS2 — nodes, topics, services, launch files, rosbag, tf.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and document test plans for autonomous driving features (perception, localization, path planning, vehicle control).
• Develop and maintain test scripts and automation tools in Python and C++ on Linux-based platforms.
• Work with ROS1/ROS2 to launch nodes, record/rosbags, debug topics, and integrate test harnesses.
• Interface with vehicle electronics over CAN bus—send/receive/decode signals with CAN tools.
• Reproduce, triage, and log defects with steps, sensor data, and rosbag artifacts; drive issues to closure.
• Calibrate and verify sensor stacks (LiDAR, camera, radar, IMU, GNSS) and sensor fusion outputs.
• Contribute to test infrastructure: data pipelines, regression suites, KPIs, dashboards.
• Maintain audit-ready test documentation and reports.
