The Test Driver role in Fleet Operations requires long-distance driving, on-road testing across the U.S., and close collaboration with engineers to report performance and help advance software and hardware systems

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with two years of employment experience; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license in residence state; clean driving record as verified by MVR background checks.
• Ability to pass ten-panel drug screening and background checks prior to employment and periodically thereafter.
• Comfortable spending long hours driving and working in close quarters with others.
• Strong interest in technology and adaptability to changes.
• Technical proficiency with computers; basic troubleshooting of software/hardware.

Responsibilities

• Drive test vehicles for long-distance local missions (up to 300–400 miles) and extensive travel (up to 50% travel) across the U.S.
• Operate on rotating schedules.
• Perform daily start-up, system engagement/disengagement, and shutdown procedures for development vehicles.
• Actively monitor and troubleshoot both software and hardware systems while on the road.
• Execute testing in accordance with strict safety and compliance protocols.
• Maintain accurate and detailed reports on vehicle performance.
• Collaborate closely with engineers to provide feedback and insight on system performance.
• Represent the organization professionally and responsibly while driving in public environments, prioritizing road safety.
• Requires the ability to travel (including air).
