Job summary

Motional’s Las Vegas office hosts an Autonomous Vehicle Test Engineering team focused on end-to-end verification of AV features across virtual, synthetic, and physical environments. As a Systems Test Engineer, you will help design test campaigns, validate safety and performance, and develop automation to enable efficient release cycles.

You will work with hardware-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop, and track-based testing, collaborating with perception, planning, hardware, and safety teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or related technical field.
• 2+ years in software QA, systems testing, or mechatronic validation.
• Proficiency with Linux and scripting languages (Python, Bash, C++).

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test campaigns for AV features (perception, planning, control) across virtual, simulated, and physical environments.
• Leverage SIL/HIL and scenario-based platforms for validation and regression testing.
• Create synthetic and logged scenarios for root-cause analysis.
• Perform track-based and on-vehicle integration testing.
• Develop and maintain test plans and automation scripts in Python and Bash.
• Analyze logs to assess system behavior and support cross-functional teams.
