Job summary

Waabi is seeking a highly capable engineer to own the creation, documentation and verification of vehicle platform requirements. You will define how to describe and evaluate them, drawing on a deep understanding of sensors, compute and actuators used in self-driving systems.

You will act as a central point of contact for platform requirements and related tests, driving safety culture across engineering teams and pushing improvements in the simulator to support rigorous verification under diverse

Qualifications

• Undergrad required; Masters or PhD within an engineering discipline preferred.
• 3+ years of automotive, robotics, aerospace or related industry experience.
• Experience with requirements-specifications and metrics.
• Experience with executing complex vehicle test campaigns.
• Experience with methods and standards such as ISO 26262, SOTIF (ISO 21448) and / or UL 4600.
• Strong fundamentals in mathematics, engineering and physics and basic understanding of vehicle dynamics.
• Excellent data analysis skills with modern tools such as Python or Matlab.
• Open-minded and collaborative leader who is eager to provide guidance and has the willingness to help others.

Responsibilities

• Own the creation, documentation, alignment and verification of vehicle platform requirements and define how to describe and evaluate them.
• Bring an in-depth understanding of sensors, compute and actuators used in self-driving vehicles and drive a safe, highly autonomous platform.
• Act as central point of contact for vehicle platform requirements and related tests, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Help drive Waabi’s safety culture through application of safety standards across Systems, Hardware and Software teams.
• Define improvements for our simulator to verify vehicle platform aspects under required conditions.
