Job summary

Torc Robotics in Blacksburg, VA, is seeking a Simulation Test Engineer to own system-level simulation testing of our autonomous driving software. You will validate perception and autonomous behavior via virtual verification, support development teams, and strengthen robustness and safety of self-driving tech.

You will identify test campaigns, develop scenarios compliant with OpenScenario, and maintain dashboards and reports for clear stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Experience with virtual testing and simulation of perception and autonomous vehicle behavior.
• Ability to develop scenarios compliant with ASM OpenScenario, especially Abstract/Logical.
• Proven experience creating test cases and test procedures.
• Proficient in scripting with yaml and Python for data analysis.
• Strong troubleshooting and system-level analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan, and execute simulation test campaigns for AV V&V.
• Interface with Product, Systems, and Safety teams to define simulation strategies.
• Maintain and improve the Scenario Library for ODD coverage.
• Acknowledge testing gaps and derive requirements for tooling and environments.
• Coordinate with internal tools teams and external vendors on toolchains.
• Analyze simulation results and develop dashboards and reports for stakeholders.
