Job summary

Atoms is seeking a Vehicle Installation Technician to prep passenger vehicles for autonomous operation by installing sensor stacks, compute units, and wiring harnesses per engineering drawings. You’ll work hands-on in a fast-moving production environment where processes evolve and precision matters.

Responsibilities include routing wiring, performing pre/post-install checks, documenting work, and supporting design updates.

Qualifications

• Experience with hardware installation, automotive work, or mechanical assembly.
• Ability to read work instructions, diagrams, and assembly documentation.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Comfortable in a fast-changing production environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, mount, align, and secure sensor stacks and hardware on passenger vehicles.
• Route and secure wiring harnesses through vehicle interiors with proper cable management.
• Perform system power-up and functional checks before handoff.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks at defined checkpoints.
• Flag gaps, unclear steps, missing parts, and design issues to leads.
• Log installation issues in the issue tracker for engineering follow-up.
• Document completed work, serial numbers, and checks as required.
• Support rework campaigns when design updates roll out to existing vehicles.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
