Job summary

Atoms seeks a hands-on Vehicle Installation Technician to prepare passenger vehicles for autonomous operation by installing sensor stacks, compute units, and wiring harnesses in a fast-paced production setting in San Francisco. You will read engineering drawings, follow procedures, perform functional checks, route wiring, and document work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with hardware installation, automotive work, or mechanical assembly preferred.
• Able to read work instructions, diagrams, and assembly documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install, mount, align, and secure sensor stacks, compute units, brackets, and roof-mounted hardware on passenger vehicles per drawings/work instructions.
• Route and secure wiring harnesses through vehicle interiors with proper seating and cable management.
• Perform system power-up and pre/post-install checks to validate hardware.
• Conduct inspections/quality checks at defined checkpoints.
• Follow SOPs and flag gaps or wrong parts to leads/engineering.
• Log installation issues in the tracker for design/kit improvements.
• Document completed work with serial numbers and checks.
• Support rework campaigns when design updates are released.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
