Job summary

Atoms is seeking a Vehicle Installation Technician to prepare passenger vehicles for autonomous operation by installing sensor stacks, compute units, and wiring harnesses per engineering drawings. You will work hands-on in a fast-moving production environment where precision and raising concerns are valued.

You will perform wiring routing, power-up checks, and quality inspections, while following SOPs and documenting all steps. This role requires reading diagrams and collaborating with engineers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with hardware installation, automotive work, or mechanical assembly.
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and torque tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read work instructions, diagrams, and assembly documentation.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Comfortable in a fast-changing production environment where processes evolve week to week.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, mount, align, and secure sensor stacks, compute units, brackets, and roof-mounted hardware on passenger vehicles per drawings.
• Route and secure wiring harnesses through vehicle interiors with proper seating and cable management.
• Perform system power-up and pre/post-install functional checks to validate hardware.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks at defined checkpoints.
• Flag gaps, unclear steps, missing or wrong parts, and design issues to leads and engineering.
• Log installation issues in the issue tracker for design improvements.
• Document completed work, serial numbers, and checks as required.
• Support rework campaigns when design updates roll out to existing vehicles.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
