Job summary

KLA Industries in Austin, TX is hiring a Vehicle Integration Technician to retrofit 200+ vehicle platforms with a full hardware stack for autonomous machines like forklifts, wheel loaders, and diggers. You will be among the first technical hires at the new Austin location, helping to deploy autonomy across US operations.

The role requires 4+ years in related fields and offers a hybrid work model with significant field work.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
3–8 years of experience in vehicle integration or related fields.
Willingness to travel up to 25% to customer sites.

Responsibilities

Adapt standard hardware (power distribution, harnesses, sensors, compute, controllers) to fit each machine model.
Assemble and install wiring harnesses, connectors, mounting brackets, sensors, and actuators; perform checks (continuity, voltage, power, CAN/J1939).
Visit customer sites to scope retrofit needs; lead installation, commissioning, debugging, and acceptance testing.
Troubleshoot integration issues across electrical, mechanical, and software layers; submit change requests to platform engineering teams.
Document build issues and lessons learned to improve Vehicle Adapter Kits; ECU or low-level embedded programming experience is a plus.
