Job summary

Kodiak Robotics, Inc. is seeking Field Technicians to maintain and repair autonomous vehicle platforms in the Permian Basin, West Texas. The role emphasizes hands-on fault diagnosis, subsystem repair, and collaboration with engineers to ensure peak performance of trucks, trailers, and autonomous systems.

We offer housing, meals, medical/dental/vision, and a $1500 annual bonus with 14/7 rotation. Daytime/night/weekend shifts and periodic travel are expected to support field operations.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Experience reading Electrical Harness Diagrams and Mechanical Prints.
• Experience with specialized electrical and mechanical tooling (wire crimpers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, torque wrenches).
• Proficiency with diagnostic instrumentation for trucks and failure analysis.
• Hands-on background inspecting and repairing complex systems with a methodical approach.
• Reliable, meticulous, and able to document work clearly for safety-critical tasks.
• Clear communication with engineers and team; collaborative problem solving.
• Willingness to travel for short-term cross-training and support.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and modify autonomous vehicle platforms including trucks, trailers, and systems.
• Repair modular subsystems and harnesses on bench and in-vehicle.
• Inspect and certify health of trucks, trailers, and AV platforms.
• Collaborate with design and validation engineers on hardware development.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and upkeep tasks.
• Support material staging and remote task readiness for field teams.
• Provide coverage in other locations as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and proper tool usage.
• Coordinate replenishment and distribution of consumed items for vehicle ops.
• Safely operate company vehicles as part of the role and maintain driving record.
