Job summary

TaskUs in San Jose, CA is seeking a Vehicle Data Collection Specialist to gather real-world mapping and sensor data for autonomous vehicle projects. You will operate fleet vehicles as an active driver on a major rideshare platform, ensuring data collection systems run continuously along routes.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip checks, system monitoring, and adherence to safety and rideshare guidelines while collecting high-quality LiDAR and camera data.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Minimum 3 years licensed driving experience; rideshare, taxi, or delivery a plus.
• Comfort operating touchscreen interfaces and onboard hardware/sensors.
• Strong interpersonal and professional demeanor with passengers.
• Able to adapt to diverse traffic, weather, and light conditions.

Responsibilities

• Accept, navigate, and complete real-world passenger rides via designated rideshare app while collecting data.
• Ensure LiDAR, cameras, and data loggers are powered on and capturing data during shifts.
• Perform pre/post-trip checks on sensor mounts and recording hardware.
• Monitor hardware/software status and report issues to operations.
• Follow local traffic laws and TaskUs safety protocols at all times.
