Job summary

Prescient Edge is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support U.S. Navy Craft Automation & Controls Systems development for autonomous USVs in Norfolk, VA. The role covers requirements analysis, control-system design, lab integration, and on-water troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on industrial automation experience with PLCs, sensors, actuators, and a strong ability to work with Government contractors. Travel up to 50% may be required, and a SECRET clearance is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum three years of professional electrical/electronics experience.
• Hands-on automation, machinery control, PLC design/programming experience.
• Ability to read/modify electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work with government contractor team.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into craft automation and control-system architectures.
• Select and integrate control hardware, sensors, actuators, PLCs.
• Develop control algorithms and state-machine logic.
• Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based systems.
• Develop GUI/HMI for operator control and monitoring.
• Document software functions and manage configuration control.
• Collaborate with government engineers and vendors.
