Penn State's Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) seeks a Signal Processing Engineer to design and analyze signal processing algorithms for autonomous underwater vehicle guidance and control. You will implement and test software, collaborating with real-time teams, and document results for sponsors.

Required are a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel for sponsor and test events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or Data Science.
  • Ability to travel to represent programs with sponsors and support test events.
  • Experience in signal processing, guidance and control concepts is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze signal processing algorithms for autonomous underwater vehicle guidance and control.
  • Support implementation, integration and testing of software to demonstrate signal processing performance.
  • Collaborate with real-time software and hardware/test vehicle teams.
  • Document work through reports and presentations to colleagues and sponsors.
