Job summary

The Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University in State College, PA, is seeking a highly motivated Signal Processing Engineer to join the Signal Processing Department of the Guidance and Control Technologies (GCT) Division.

You will design and analyze signal processing algorithms for autonomous underwater vehicle guidance, implement software, and collaborate with real-time teams. A Bachelor's degree in engineering or science is required, with eligibility for security clearances noted.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science required as listed for ARL positions.
  • Experience with signal processing algorithm design for autonomous systems is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel and collaborate with sponsors and test teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze the performance of signal processing algorithms for autonomous underwater vehicle guidance.
  • Support implementation, integration and testing of software to demonstrate algorithm performance.
  • Collaborate with teams of real-time software and hardware/test vehicle colleagues.
  • Document work through reports and presentations to program colleagues and sponsors.
  • Plan and execute projects advancing signal processing techniques for autonomous capabilities.
