Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Class A Driver based in Phoenix, AZ, to pilot autonomous semi trucks on road and in closed testing environments. This 6-month assignment offers day and night shifts, with rotating schedule including weekends, and potential extension based on location needs and performance.

The role requires at least 3 years of commercial driving experience, a valid U.S. Driver’s License and Interstate CDL, the ability to travel up to 50%, and the capacity to work overnight shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience driving trucks commercially.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and Interstate Class-A CDL.
• Must pass DOT physical and FMCSA requirements.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Safely pilot autonomous semi trucks for on road and closed course testing.
• Monitor Aurora Driver during extended autonomous operation.
• Log real time feedback to engineers about autonomy and platform performance.
• Escalate blockers with suggested solutions to keep operations progressing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance Aurora’s mission.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of how self-driving technology works and related software changes.
• Keep required partner applications current with user accounts and access permissions.
