Job summary

Skydio is seeking Summer 2027 interns or Co-ops for our Hardware Test & Reliability Team. You will help develop and execute test plans and testing infrastructure enabling rapid design iteration and robust product validation for autonomous flying machines serving consumer and commercial use cases.

Qualifications

• A sense of how to test, how not to test, and how to find vulnerabilities in processes and design.
• A systematic approach to problem solving and a knack for root-cause failure analysis.
• Apply first principles to engineer creative solutions to complex problems.
• Experience with Python or other programming languages for test automation, data analysis and visualization.
• Desire to learn and contribute across multiple domains in a dynamic org.
• Excellent project management and cross-functional communication skills.
• Familiarity with testing equipment and stress/environmental/accelerated life testing methods.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and implementation of hardware and software systems to execute comprehensive performance and reliability validation for products.
• Analyze data, calculate statistics, and document results to explain trends and inform design improvements.
• Perform failure analysis to identify root cause and develop mitigations with mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Participate in design reviews and provide reliability inputs to mitigate risks across the product lifecycle.
