Job summary

Skydio is seeking an experienced Senior/Staff Systems Integration and Test Engineer to own definition, integration, verification, and failure analysis of autonomous flying robots. You will work across hardware, sensing, and real-time AI software to ensure product integrity for infrastructure, public safety, and defense applications.

Responsibilities include defining system requirements, performance verification, cross-functional triage, and telemetry development while leveraging data from flight

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on definition, design, analysis, testing, modeling, and delivery of highly reliable electro-mechanical systems in rapid development environments.
• Systems-engineering approach to problem solving across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
• Test design and execution for system bringup and performance verification, including mechatronic prototyping and fixture development.
• Proficiency in design for reliability principles, physics of failure, and integration risks of critical electronics subsystems such as PCBAs, motors, batteries, cameras, compute modules, and sensors.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and AI tooling to analyze datasets and write scripts for electro-mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the definition of comprehensive system requirements in partnership with product managers, designers, and developers for new hardware products.
• Guarantee system performance and product integrity through architecture definition and design reviews.
• Define and implement cross-functional system behaviors and telemetry for lifetime performance and field diagnostics.
• Perform bring-up and performance verification during new product introduction.
• Act as first responder for early system failures and triage cross-functional issues.
